Shaping Place Identity in Urban Village through R-V-S-T Participatory Art model

For over a decade, urban villages across Java Indonesia that were used to be slum areas transformed into colorful and have become tourist destinations. Artists together with local residents paint the village murals, thus name Kampung Pelangi or Rainbow Village synonymous creative movement. This study was conducted in of Semarang city, central Indonesia. City is visually unique it located on hill slope expansive paintings created terraced settlement. However, ensure its sustainability as destination good dwelling place, residents’ creativity key factor perform continual improvements. surrounded by historical sites, which intersects city’s geographical history.
